Phil’s Picks - Album Review

Morgan Heritage's album Strictly Roots was a stand out when it was first released, with a modern but powerful approach to raggae music. The album's second release, with four new songs and three remixes, is an even greater album. Some hits include "Light It Up (ft. Jo Mersa Marley)", "So Amazing (ft. J Boog, Jemere Morgan, and Gil Sharone)", and "Keep On Jammin (ft. Shaggy)". Each of these raggae tunes has another genre that influences it, including pop and rock, leaving this album with contemporary sound. The four new songs continue to show that this group is multi-talented and is creating new, contemporary music in the raggae genre. The remixes are also strong additions to the release, adding dubstep and hip-hop elements to the original arrangements. Read the article.
